Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between certain physical abilities and 50m swimming performance, with the hypothesis suggesting a significant correlation between them. The sample consisted of 8 swimmers aged between 8 and 10 years, and the study was conducted at Al-Shaab indoor pool from March 29th to April 6th, 2010. Data analysis was performed using SPSS. The researcher concluded that there is a weak relationship between explosive strength and 50m performance, but a significant relationship exists between some physical abilities and 50m performance overall. Based on these findings, the study recommends focusing on developing key physical abilities—such as speed strength, endurance strength, and maximum strength—to enhance 50m performance. Additionally, it suggests conducting physiological tests on similar samples to further explore their relationship with performance, and expanding research to include different age groups to assess the connection between their physical and motor abilities and 50m performance.
