Abstract
The first chapter of this research covers the introduction, the importance of the study, and the problem being investigated. The research is focused on the psychological pressures faced by athletes with physical disabilities during competitions, as these pressures can significantly affect their mental state and performance. The researchers aimed to create a specific measure for assessing psychological pressures experienced by athletes with physical disabilities and to understand the reasons for these pressures and their impact on performance. The objective was also to explore ways to reduce or avoid such pressures. The study's sample consisted of 214 athletes with physical disabilities, all of whom were registered with official clubs and federations affiliated with the National Paralympic Committee of Iraq. Among the key findings, the study successfully developed a measure for identifying stress factors in athletes and found statistically significant differences in how psychological pressure affected the athletes’ competitive performance. The researchers concluded that it is crucial to have a psychologist or social worker present to foster a supportive environment for athletes, allowing for open discussions and strategies to help them cope with and overcome these pressures
