Abstract

Scientific development has influenced all areas of life, including the field of sports. Achieving high performance and record-breaking results has become increasingly difficult at both national and international levels due to rapid advancements across various domains. Therefore, it is essential to utilize all available resources to enhance athletic performance and reach desired goals. One such factor is the vital (biorhythm) cycles—specifically the emotional, rational, and physical rhythms—and their potential influence on athletic achievement. This study aimed to explore the relationship between these biorhythm cycles and selected physical fitness components and performance outcomes in 50-meter freestyle swimmers. The research sample consisted of swimmers from the Military Sports Club during the 2022–2023 season. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS program. The results indicated a significant relationship between the physical biorhythm cycle and athletic achievement, while a non-significant relationship was found between the physical and emotional cycles and the results of endurance tests. Based on these findings, the researchers recommend that coaches should understand athletes' biorhythm patterns to optimize training and improve performance. Additionally, it is suggested that biorhythm concepts be included in sports education curricula and training programs to support effective teaching and coaching. Understanding the timing of peak physical biorhythms may also help coaches to schedule high-intensity training sessions within the most productive timeframes
