Abstract

The development and spread of handball globally has increased the need for research to address performance-related issues, particularly in diagnosing and enhancing offensive fundamental skills such as shooting, which rely heavily on developing skill and corporal abilities. The research problem focuses on designing a training program to improve these corporal skills for late-line youth players and determining its effect on shooting accuracy during high jumps in handball. The study used an experimental program suited to the nature of the research, with a sample selected from Al-Karkh club youth players aged 14–16. Pretests were conducted following a training program lasting 20–35 minutes, and after completing the posttests, data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical program along with illustrative tables and scientific discussion. The results showed a positive impact of the training program on shooting accuracy, as demonstrated by significant improvements between pretests and posttests. The conclusion and recommendations emphasize the importance of improving skill and corporal abilities through exercises that develop leg strength and explosive power in the shooting hand, with speed being a key factor contributing to the observed improvements. The research highlights the importance of using a training program that includes specific corporal and skill exercises to enhance shooting accuracy in high jumping during handball.
