Abstract

The research focuses on the physical abilities and motor performance associated with the skill of standing on hands on the floor exercise mat. It is structured in five sections: Part I introduces the importance of physical abilities and motor skills, highlighting their role in achieving high performance in the handstand skill. The research problem is centered on whether physical and motor abilities affect the level of performance in handstand skills. The hypothesis states that there is a statistically significant correlation between physical abilities, motor skills, and handstand performance. Part II presents theoretical studies on physical abilities and motor skills in gymnastics, specifically the handstand skill. Part III discusses the research methodology, where the researcher used the survey method suitable for the research problem. The sample included 70 children from the Republic Kindergarten in Baghdad (Rusafa). The study focuses on assessing physical abilities such as explosive power, strength, speed, carrying power, mobility, balance, agility, and flexibility, as well as motor coordination between eye-hand and eye-foot. The technical performance of the handstand skill was evaluated by four experts in the field. Part IV displays statistical results in tables, including the description of physical and motor abilities and their correlation with handstand performance. The results are discussed scientifically, with reference to existing sources. Part V presents two conclusions and three scientific recommendations formulated by the researcher.
