Abstract

The study focuses on training methods that play a significant role in developing specific endurance, particularly strength endurance and speed-strength endurance, which are essential physical attributes for athletes in various sports. These qualities allow athletes to maintain effort over prolonged periods without a decline in performance. The problem addressed in the research stems from the observed stagnation in the performance of 800-meter run times for the target age group, especially when compared to regional and international records. As a result, the study aims to improve these performance gaps by enhancing strength endurance and speed-strength endurance using two training methods: jumping running (with body weight) and weighted training on the track. The primary goal of the research is to determine the impact and effectiveness of these two training methods on improving strength endurance, speed-strength endurance, and 800-meter run performance in the target group. The study hypothesizes that there will be statistically significant differences between pre- and post-test results, particularly in the experimental groups, due to the influence of the two training methods. An experimental research design was used, with participants selected intentionally from 16-18-year-old 800-meter runners. The sample was divided into two groups: the first group trained with jumping running (bodyweight), while the second group trained with jumping running combined with weighted exercises. To ensure the homogeneity of the sample, a difference coefficient test was conducted for height, weight, and age, confirming that the groups were comparable. The research results show that the training methods significantly enhanced strength endurance, speed-strength endurance, and 800-meter run performance in the sample group.
