Abstract
Skill is an essential component of any athletic activity, and volleyball is one such sport that involves a variety of technical skills necessary for effective performance in different playing positions. Testing and measurement play a crucial role in evaluating a student’s or player's skill level, monitoring progress, and determining the most appropriate training approach. However, assessing the skill performance levels of students has not received sufficient research attention. Therefore, the researcher sought to investigate this issue by directly evaluating the applied skill levels of students in faculties of Physical Education, aiming to identify obstacles and propose solutions to enhance performance. The objectives of the study were: (1) to determine the level of performance in some basic volleyball skills among female students in the faculties of Physical Education at Jadiriyah, and (2) to identify differences in skill performance levels between students from different physical education faculties. The research hypothesized that there would be statistically significant differences in the performance of certain volleyball skills between students of the two colleges. The descriptive research method was used, and the sample consisted of 117 female students from the faculties of Physical Education and Sports Education at the University of Baghdad. The results indicated a general weakness in the performance levels of both serving and receiving skills among the female students across the faculties.
