Abstract

The development of teaching methods, particularly in gymnastics, requires researchers to move towards modern techniques that cater to the diverse learning needs of students. Traditional methods, such as demonstrating basic skills, often lead to student boredom and a low level of skill acquisition, necessitating the exploration of more effective approaches. The aim of this research was to examine the impact of the discovery method in teaching the open curved jump on the vault in gymnastics. The study sample consisted of 24 students, with the experimental group being taught the skill using the discovery method and the control group using traditional methods. The results indicated that both teaching methods were effective, with the discovery method showing promise in improving learning outcomes. The researcher recommended the use of discovery-oriented teaching methods in certain gymnastics skills, further studies to assess its broader impact, and training courses for teachers to better understand and implement this approach.
