Abstract

An eight-week training program, consisting of 90-minute sessions, was implemented from March 13, 2010, to May 18, 2010. After the completion of the program, post-tests were conducted, data were collected, and statistical analysis was carried out using the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and T-test. The study reached the following conclusions: (1) there was noticeable improvement in the performance levels of players in all basic skills for both the experimental and control groups between the pre- and post-tests, with the post-test results showing greater development—particularly in the experimental group; (2) there was also improvement in all physical abilities of the players in both groups, again with more significant progress in the experimental group compared to the control group. Based on these findings, the researcher recommended increased focus on developing the physical and skill-related abilities of youth handball players at Sulaymaniyah Sports Club.
