Abstract

Volleyball is one of the team sports that has gained significant attention from enthusiasts and has become widespread in many countries around the world. This sport relies heavily on fundamental skills, and mastering these skills is crucial for progress. Therefore, it is essential to focus on learning these skills by putting in the appropriate effort from both sides of the educational process (the student and the teacher). The use of educational tools is vital as it facilitates both teaching and learning simultaneously. It brings the idea closer to the learner and helps them absorb the educational material more effectively. One of the primary concerns for physical education teachers is finding the most suitable methods and techniques that ease the learning process. However, due to individual differences, no single method or technique works for everyone to achieve the same level of learning. Among the teaching techniques in skill learning is the reciprocal method. The study sample consists of 60 female students from the College of Physical Education for Women, Second Year, University of Baghdad, for the academic year 2010-2011. Therefore, the importance of the research lies in trying to utilize the latest types of visual aids (mind maps), which are significant educational tools that help convey skill information to the learner after it is formulated in a mind map format, using the reciprocal method. The researcher attempts a new approach in this field to explore the impact of the reciprocal method using mind maps for learners who are either capable or incapable of handling ambiguity in learning basic volleyball skills. The problem emerges from the fact that there is a weakness in learning some basic volleyball skills, which is attributed to the lack of variation in using different teaching methods.
