Abstract
The main goal of selecting young athletes is to guide them towards achieving the highest sports levels by evaluating their physical, strategic, functional, and psychological abilities. The research problem involves understanding how athletic performance in both international and local competitions is determined by the athletes' abilities across various sports. Success and excellence in different sports activities largely depend on how effectively athletes are utilized, both physically and mentally. The study also aims to explore the relationship between certain motor skills and shooting accuracy in basketball. The research sample consisted of youth players from Baghdad clubs, and the study was conducted at the Al-Jadriya indoor stadium, from January 15 to March 15, 2013. The second chapter of the study redownloaded various motor abilities and fundamental basketball skills. The descriptive method was used, and statistical analyses were performed using SPSS. The researcher concluded that there is a significant correlation between shooting accuracy and agility, shooting accuracy and coordination, and shooting accuracy and balance. The researcher also recommended that the agility factor be prioritized, as it plays a crucial role in improving the team's performance and achieving satisfactory results. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the importance of developing and enhancing motor abilities for better athletic performance.
