Abstract
The study aimed to identify the effect of special exercises using the muscle contraction technique similar to movement (isokinetic) on the development of explosive power in the arms and the skills of serving and spiking in volleyball. The researcher hypothesized that there would be differences in the impact of the exercises on the development of explosive power in the arms and the skills of serving and spiking in volleyball between the experimental and control groups. The sample consisted of 10 players aged 14–16 years from the volleyball school under the Ministry of Youth. The researcher used the experimental method with two equivalent groups (experimental and control) with pre-and post-tests to achieve the study's objectives. The players were divided into two groups (experimental and control), with 5 players in each group. Pre-tests were conducted, followed by the implementation of isokinetic muscle contraction exercises for 9 weeks. Afterward, post-tests were conducted, and the data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. The researcher concluded the following: The exercises using isokinetic muscle contractions similar to movement had a significant effect on developing the explosive power of the muscles used in serving and spiking. Positive effects were observed in developing explosive power for muscles, with movement patterns similar to those used in swimming, impacting the development of serving and spiking skills in volleyball. Finally, the researcher recommends the following: Apply the exercises used to develop explosive power in the muscles involved in serving and spiking in volleyball. Conduct further research to evaluate the effectiveness of using isokinetic contraction exercises in other volleyball skills.
