Abstract

The first chapter included the introduction and the importance of the research, where the researcher emphasized the significance of creative thinking in humans in general and scouts in particular, citing a verse from the Holy Quran: "Do they not reflect upon themselves? Allah created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in truth." (Aal-Imran, 191). This highlights the great importance of thinking and its related cognitive processes in various aspects of life, especially in a world shaped by globalization and constant change, requiring effective solutions and overcoming obstacles to benefit those involved in educational, training, or scientific fields. In light of these challenges and the scientific studies on creative thinking and how to activate this vital mental process, the research focused on exploring the impact of creative thinking on specialized scouting skills in the advanced scout stage. The importance of this research lies in understanding how creative thinking influences scouting performance, hoping it will benefit scouts by enhancing their creativity. The research problem emerged from the researcher’s personal experience attending scouting events, where the development of creative thinking or quick decision-making appeared to be lacking or minimally observed. Therefore, the researcher aimed to develop creative tests to enhance the scouting skills required by scouts. The objectives of the study were: (1) to design suggested games to develop creative thinking in the advanced scout stage, and (2) to examine the outcomes of creative thinking tests on certain scouting skills among both the experimental and control groups. The researcher hypothesized that: (1) creative thinking positively affects specific scouting skills in the advanced scout stage, and (2) there are statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the creative thinking tests and certain scouting skills. The research domains were defined as follows: the human domain included central scout teams of the advanced scout stage affiliated with the Directorate of Physical and Scouting Education; the spatial domain was the Seniyah Scout Camp in Al-Qadisiyyah Governorate; and the temporal domain was from February 25 to May 5, 2014. The theoretical framework focused on the advanced scout stage and the concept of creative thinking. The researcher adopted the experimental method as the most appropriate to address and solve the research problem. The chapter detailed the sample selection process, the percentage chosen, excluded participants, and how homogeneity and equivalence were ensured. It also described the tools used, the pilot and main experiments, and the method for data analysis using the SPSS statistical program.
