Abstract
The concept of internal and external locus of control is an important variable in explaining human behavior in various situations, as it reflects an individual's perceived ability to control external events that may influence them. This research aims to identify the degree of locus of control among male and female bowling players, examine the differences between genders in self-control levels, and explore the relationship between locus of control and the results of bowling competitions. The researcher used a descriptive method, focusing on the national team players from countries participating in the Sinai Open International Bowling Championship (Men and Women), held in the Arab Republic of Egypt from April 15 to 30, 2014. A total of 72 players (57 male and 15 female) participated, representing the entire research community. The participating countries included Egypt, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. The locus of control scale was administered with the help of the research team's assistants one day before the championship, on April 14, 2014, at 4:00 PM, in the Cairo bowling hall. Results were collected from the organizing committee after the championship concluded on April 30, 2014.
