Abstract
The problem of the research lies in the fact that the subject matter of handball is presented to female students in the same way, at the same time, and with a fixed method followed in every educational situation, in addition to the large number of students in each class. This leads to the students feeling bored and a lack of motivation to learn, resulting in great effort being spent and a lot of time being wasted during lessons trying to learn and correct mistakes. The goal of the research was to analyze the time spent by the teacher and the student during a handball lesson while teaching the skill of shooting from a standing position, and to identify the relationship between the teacher's and student's time and the learning of the shooting skill from a standing position in handball. The research hypothesized that there is a statistically significant correlation between the time spent by the teacher and the student in learning the shooting skill from a standing position in handball. The researchers used the descriptive method with a correlational approach, as it fits the nature of the problem. The research was applied to a sample of 6 second-year students, and the study was conducted from December 1, 2013, to June 6, 2014. During this period, 8 educational units were filmed for teaching the shooting skill from a standing position. After the filming, the behaviors were recorded in forms designed for this purpose and processed statistically. The sample was then tested on the shooting skill from a standing position. The researchers concluded several findings, the most important of which is that the time spent by the teacher in explaining the material and the time the student spends learning the shooting skill from a standing position are related to learning the skill, but the relationship is not very strong.
