Abstract

Basketball has become a highly attractive and beautiful sport, as it is a team game that becomes even more enjoyable when played collectively, with its specific harmonious expressions, which are considered important motor skills for the game. The research problem was that special coordination exercises were not given enough attention in practical lessons. They did not take their true role and scope in basketball lessons for female students, which affects their performance of skills, including complex offensive skills. The aim of the research was to improve the specific coordination of female students in the fourth stage at the College of Physical Education for Girls, and to assess the impact of this improvement on developing the performance of certain complex offensive skills in basketball. The researcher hypothesized that there would be significant differences between the pre-test and post-test for specific coordination in the research sample, as well as differences between the pre-test and post-test in the complex offensive basketball skills. The research was conducted on a sample of 34 female students from the fourth stage in the college, representing sections (A and D), which accounted for 28.33% of the total. The test for specific coordination and complex offensive skills was conducted from November 7, 2014, to January 30, 2015. Statistical methods were used to analyze the data. The researcher concluded that the exercises used in the study led to the development of specific coordination for the fourth-year students, and this development improved the complex offensive basketball skills discussed in the research. Additionally, significant differences were found between the pre-test and post-test results, with the post-test results showing better performance in all variables. The researcher recommends using coordination exercises to improve specific coordination, as they contribute to the development of complex offensive basketball skills for female students. Furthermore, it is essential for female instructors at the College of Physical Education to pay attention to coordination as an important motor skill in basketball.
