Abstract

This research focuses on improving athletic performance in the 200-meter sprint by developing a specialized training program targeting speed-strength. The first chapter introduces the study by outlining its significance, objectives, and the problem it addresses—namely, the recent decline in performance among many athletes in the 200-meter event, attributed to weaknesses in key physical attributes, particularly speed-strength. The study emphasizes the importance of designing effective training methods and specific exercises to enhance this attribute. The main objectives were to assess the impact of the training program on speed-strength and to determine its effect on 200-meter sprint performance. The fourth chapter presents and analyzes the results obtained from pre- and post-tests conducted on the research sample, yielding scientific findings that were thoroughly discussed. In the final chapter, the research concludes that the targeted speed-strength exercises were effective and positively influenced athletes' performance in the 200-meter sprint, demonstrating the success of the applied training methodology.
