Abstract
The aim of the research was to investigate the effect of continuous training using the speed variation method on developing the physical and functional abilities of the youth athletes at Al-Sinaa Club. The hypothesis of the study proposed that there is a statistically significant effect of continuous training on improving the physical and functional abilities of the cyclists. The research sample consisted of 8 athletes from Al-Sinaa Club’s cycling team, and the experiment was conducted from March 1 to March 3, 2014. The researcher found significant differences in the physical and functional abilities due to the continuous training using the speed variation method. The study recommends emphasizing the development and enhancement of physical and functional abilities through scientifically grounded training principles.
