Abstract
The research aims to design coordination exercises and evaluate their effectiveness in developing the shoulder stand skill in artistic gymnastics. The researcher employed the experimental method using two equal groups (experimental and control), selecting a random sample of 40 third-stage male students from the College of Basic Education for the academic year 2014–2015. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group of 20 students and a control group of 20 students. Appropriate tools, equipment, and methods were used throughout the research procedures. After conducting pre-tests, the researcher applied the coordination exercises over a period of four weeks, with two instructional units per week. Post-tests were then conducted under the same conditions as the pre-tests. The data were analyzed using suitable statistical methods, and the results led to several conclusions. Most notably, the use of coordination exercises significantly contributed to the development of the shoulder stand skill on the men’s parallel bars apparatus.
