Abstract

The importance of this research lies in exploring the impact of using plyometric training to develop the acceleration phase and performance of female 100-meter sprinters. Plyometric training is considered one of the most important scientific methods, as it relies on both physical and biomechanical aspects. Therefore, the researchers conducted this study on a group of female sprinters from the Baghdad School Athletics Team for the 2015–2016 season. Plyometric training is among the most effective methods related to muscular work, involving high-intensity exercises such as various types of jumps and box jump drills. These exercises aim to develop and enhance explosive and speed strength, contributing to improved technical performance, acceleration, and sprint results. This is achieved by increasing the athlete’s ability to perform the required movement in the shortest possible time without exerting additional effort.
