Abstract
Autism is considered one of the most complex and puzzling disorders, with varying degrees from one individual to another. Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) represent a heterogeneous group in terms of characteristics and traits. Exercise is known to help reduce stress and anxiety. From this perspective, the importance of the current research lies in enhancing social interaction and developing physical abilities. Additionally, music is introduced as a unique therapeutic technique when combined with other treatment methods, aiming to bring about positive behavioral changes in children with autism spectrum disorder. Research Problem: The problem lies in designing a movement program accompanied by music to enhance social interaction, improve physical abilities, and create a sense of joy for children with autism. Research Objectives: To assess the level of social interaction. To develop and implement a motor program accompanied by music targeting certain physical abilities and social interaction skills. To determine the impact of this music-based motor program on the physical and social skills of children with ASD. Hypotheses: There are no statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-tests in physical abilities. There are no statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-tests in social interaction. Research Fields: Time Frame: From January 1 to March 8, 2016 Location: Al-Nihal Institute for Autism Human Field: A sample of 6 children with autism spectrum disorder Methodology and Procedures: The researcher used the experimental method, specifically the one-group pre-test/post-test design. The sample was intentionally selected from children diagnosed with autism at Al-Nihal Institute. The steps included: Conducting a pilot study Administering pre-tests Designing and implementing the motor program accompanied by music Conducting post-tests, collecting data, and performing statistical analysis Results: The motor program had a positive effect, with noticeable improvements in physical abilities and statistically significant differences in the test results. The program proved suitable in its structure and approach for the sample. Recommendations: Emphasize the importance of early detection of autism symptoms in children. Encourage inclusion and participation of children with ASD in social activities to enhance social interaction and improve physical abilities.
