Abstract
The research aims to compare personality traits among female athletes in handball, basketball, and volleyball, as well as among male athletes in the same sports, and to further compare these traits between female and male athletes across these specialties. The methodology included selecting a sample and collecting relevant data, followed by presenting, analyzing, and discussing the results. The findings revealed that female handball players exhibited higher levels of nervousness and sociability but lower aggressiveness, depression, susceptibility to stimulation, calmness, and self-control. In contrast, male handball players showed greater aggressiveness and sociability with lower nervousness, depression, susceptibility to stimulation, calmness, and self-control. Female basketball players were characterized by higher nervousness, depression, susceptibility to stimulation, calmness, sociability, and self-control, while male basketball players had higher nervousness, aggressiveness, depression, susceptibility to stimulation, and self-control but lower sociability and calmness.
