Abstract
The research aims to identify the most important physical capacities and basic skills of young tennis players, understand the relationship between these specific physical capacities and skills, and determine standard levels for some of these capacities and skills among young tennis players. The researcher used a descriptive method, and the study sample included 70 players aged 14 to 16 years, who were beginners in tennis. Some physical and skill tests recommended by experts were used, and appropriate statistical methods were applied. The researcher reached several important conclusions: there is a statistically significant correlation between some physical capacities and basic skills of young tennis players; standard levels for some specific physical capacities and basic skills were determined. Among the most important recommendations are the necessity to rely on the standard levels reached by the research in assessing the physical fitness and some basic skills of beginner tennis players, and continuous support for the use of tests related to physical capacities and skills to monitor the development levels of young players.
