Abstract

The objectives of the research were to identify the impact of using certain teaching methods (traditional style, command style, and reciprocal style) on learning the layup shooting skill in basketball, and to examine the differences in post-tests for this skill among students in the Department of Physical Education, College of Basic Education, using these teaching methods. The study aimed to determine which method was most effective for learning the targeted skill. The research was conducted on a sample of second-year students from the Department of Physical Education at Al-Mustansiriyah University. The researcher adopted the experimental method as it fits the nature and goals of the study. The conclusions revealed that the selected teaching methods positively influenced learning the basketball layup. Among these, the reciprocal style was the most effective, followed by the command style, while the traditional method showed the least positive effect in comparison.
