Abstract
The aim of the research was to develop a training program to improve speed-strength (explosive strength) in third-year female students at the College of Physical Education, University of Baghdad. The program included structured physical exercises targeting this specific physical attribute, as it plays a vital role in performing gymnastics skills, particularly on the balance beam and floor routines. The researchers selected two groups from the same academic stage: an experimental group, which followed the newly developed program for two months, and a control group that continued with the regular curriculum prepared by the subject instructor. Pre- and post-tests (both skill-related and physical) were conducted for both groups. Appropriate statistical tools were used to analyze the data, and the results showed significant improvements in favor of the experimental group, along with some minor significant differences in certain skills within the control group.
