Abstract

The research consisted of four chapters, beginning with an introduction highlighting the significant global progress in education through scientific and strategic planning aimed at preparing qualified physical education teachers. It focused on evaluating the effectiveness of physical education programs at the University of Anbar from the perspective of fourth-year students during the 2006–2007 academic year. The study used a descriptive survey method with questionnaires and appropriate statistical tools, involving fourth-year students from the College of Physical Education between April and June 2007. Results showed that the curriculum was inadequate for preparing competent teachers, with teaching methods, materials, and resources insufficient and poorly aligned with educational goals. The materials lacked cultural and psychological content to foster creativity, and students struggled with scientific research writing. Practical training and facilities were also insufficient, and the absence of a dedicated college library weakened students’ research capabilities. Consequently, the researcher recommended revising the curriculum to allocate more hours for theoretical and practical subjects, establishing a well-equipped library, providing better teaching tools and classrooms, enhancing cultural and social engagement, increasing practical training, and organizing seminars to cultivate a passion for teaching, encourage research, and foster creativity and innovation among students.
