Abstract
The first chapter of the research includes the introduction and significance of the study. It highlights the need to understand the dimensions of the self-concept and its importance, as well as the importance of the practical field application. The chapter addresses the problem of the study, which centers on understanding the relationship between self-concept and students’ performance in the practical field application, specifically for students in the third and fourth years at the College of Physical Education for Girls. The chapter also outlines the objectives of the study, which include: identifying the level of self-concept among the study sample, evaluating their level of performance in field application, and exploring the statistical relationship between both variables. Additionally, it includes the research hypothesis which proposes a statistically significant correlation between the self-concept dimensions and the results of field application. The research also defines its scope: the human scope (female students in their third and fourth years at the College of Physical Education for Girls), the temporal scope (from April 21, 2009, to April 23, 2009), and the spatial scope (College of Physical Education for Girls).
