Abstract
Physical attributes are considered one of the most important factors in achieving high levels of athletic performance, especially in team sports such as basketball and volleyball, which require skilled and fast execution throughout the duration of a match. Among these attributes, speed endurance plays a crucial role, as it allows athletes to maintain their performance level without decline, ultimately enabling effective actions such as accurate shooting at the opponent’s goal. To ensure this level of performance, each team member must possess the necessary physical qualities, as superior physical performance often leads to enhanced technical performance. Based on this, the current study aimed to identify the relationship between speed endurance and the accuracy of jump shooting in handball. The research was conducted on a sample of female players from Al-Jaish Sports Club, one of Iraq’s elite women’s handball teams. Tests were carried out to measure speed endurance and the skill of jump shooting, and the researchers found that performance in the speed endurance test was a strong indicator of the nature of the relationship being studied even before statistical treatments. The results also showed that the level of achievement and success rate in the jump shooting test clearly indicated that the strength of the relationship depended on the athletes’ ability to perform motor skills while maintaining their performance throughout the competition.
