Abstract
The two researchers utilized limited-area exercises to teach basic football skills and physical abilities, employing an experimental method suitable for the study's nature. They divided 36 first-year students from the Faculty of Physical Education at Diyala University into two equal groups: one trained freely and the other under specific limited-area exercises, selected from a total population of 210 students. The research focused on basic football skills—suppression, handling, and scoring—and physical tests such as dynamic response, speed, and zigzag running. The limited-area exercises were implemented over a 10-week period, with two training sessions per week involving 14 students. After applying appropriate statistical methods to analyze the test results, the data indicated that the group trained with limited-area exercises showed greater improvement in both basic football skills and physical abilities.
