The Most Important Emotional Determinants and Their Relationship to the Spirit of Challenge Among Advanced Handball Players in Babil Governorate Clubs

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the following:

1. To identify the most important emotional determinants and the spirit of challenge among advanced handball players in Babil Governorate clubs.
2. To identify the relationship between the most important emotional determinants and the spirit of challenge among advanced handball players in Babil Governorate clubs.

The researchers used the descriptive method with both survey and correlational study approaches. The research population consisted of 50 handball players from Babil Governorate clubs. From Al-Qasim and Al-Musayyib clubs, a random sample of 30 players was selected to apply the scales for the most important emotional determinants and the spirit of challenge. The appropriate statistical treatments were used to reach the results. Based on the results obtained, the researchers can draw the following conclusions:

1. Most handball players have good emotional determinants and a strong spirit of challenge.
2. There is a positive correlation between the most important emotional determinants and the spirit of challenge.

Based on the results of the research, the researchers recommend:

1. Coaches should use the scales for the most important emotional determinants and the spirit of challenge to understand players' tendencies and their emotional variable levels, so they can consider how to give appropriate guidance and instructions to the players.
