- To evaluate the reality of psychological resilience among handball players in the provincial teams of Iraq.
The researchers used a descriptive approach with a survey study method. The research community consisted of advanced handball players from the provincial teams of Iraq, with a total of 90 players. Then, the psychological resilience scale was applied to a sample of 50 players from this community. Appropriate statistical treatments were used to analyze the results, which were then presented, analyzed, and discussed.
The researchers reached the following conclusions:
- Most players exhibited medium psychological resilience.
- There is a positive relationship between psychological resilience and player performance.
- The higher the psychological resilience, the better the results.
Based on these findings, the researchers made the following key recommendations:
- It is necessary to use and apply the psychological resilience scale and basic skills tests for advanced handball players to benefit in the development of good players.
- Other psychological variables should be used to understand the psychological states of players, so that guidance and instructions can be appropriately provided to them.
- The researchers also suggest:
- Conducting a similar study on female handball players.
- Conducting a study to examine the relationship between psychological resilience and other physical, physiological, and psychological variables.
