The diversity of tests and the mechanisms used to calculate their scores often leads to their improper application. This may be due to the unclear correlation and integration between the variables that directly affect score calculation. Most tests aimed at measuring accuracy do not consider the variables that may influence the calculation of accuracy, such as biomechanical factors (speed, distance). Therefore, in this study, the researchers used an equation to calculate accuracy scores, taking these variables into account.
The goal of this study is to calculate the accuracy scores of the spike shot test from a biomechanical perspective, using an equation that includes the variables of (speed, distance) and verify the validity of this equation.
To achieve this goal, the study was conducted on the players of the Al-Muthanna University volleyball team, consisting of 14 players. The researchers used one of the tests that measures spike shot accuracy as the main tool in the study. After verifying the validity of the (skill indicator) in terms of its scientific foundations, it was applied to the study sample. Using appropriate statistical methods, the researchers concluded several results, among them that the variables of the skill indicator (ball speed, variable error of distance) cause differentiation between volleyball players in spike shot accuracy.
Based on these conclusions, the researchers made several recommendations, including using the mechanism employed in this study to predict a group of distinguished volleyball players in the distinguishing variables (ball speed, variable error of distance).
