Abstract

Psychological factors are considered one of the key elements that influence athletic performance for most athletes. Therefore, psychologists have studied many topics and issues related to sports activities and have conducted numerous experiments and research to uncover solutions to these problems. Attention in gymnastics is closely related to various skills, especially on balance beam apparatus, due to its unique characteristics, such as being elevated above the ground and having a narrow surface. This requires a great deal of focus and attention from the athlete when performing movements on it.

The front roll is one of the basic skills performed on the balance beam, and its success depends on several important factors, the most significant of which are the correctness and precision of the technical execution of the movement, as well as the preparatory state before the performance. This state involves the athlete using all their physical and mental resources to execute the movement properly. During this stage of preparation, the athlete focuses on what needs to be done to ensure their body moves in the correct direction to avoid falling or making technical mistakes in the movement. From here, the importance of this research lies in understanding the relationship between attention concentration and the performance level of the front roll on the balance beam.
