Abstract

The research problem revolves around the importance of studying the academic personality of university students, as it is considered one of the most important fields of psychology and a foundation for the organizational behavior of individuals in managing life, utilizing energies, and guiding them in the optimal direction. It also serves as an indicator of psychological and social adjustment, and harmony with the physical and social environment, which is characterized by continuity, change, and modification. Since teaching is the primary profession that supplies other fields with trained and qualified human resources, and it relies on mental, physical, psychological, and social activity in its practice, in addition to the desire, readiness, and familiarity with specialized knowledge.

The study aimed to:
  • Develop a scale for the academic personality of fourth-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Karbala.
  • Identify the traits of the academic personality of fourth-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Karbala.
  • Identify the differences in the traits of the academic personality of fourth-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Karbala, based on gender.
  • Determine standard levels and create an evaluation model for the traits of the academic personality of fourth-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Karbala, based on gender.
Methodology:

The researchers used the descriptive method with a survey, comparative, and normative approach to achieve the objectives of their study. The research community included fourth-year students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Karbala, morning study. After collecting, analyzing, and discussing the data, the researchers concluded several important findings, including:

  • Establishing standards and an evaluation model for the academic personality traits of fourth-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Karbala, based on gender.
Recommendations:

The researchers made several recommendations, including:

  • Utilizing the results of the current study, especially the measurement tool and standards, in evaluating the academic personality traits of students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Karbala, based on gender.
